My name is Jonathan Edmondson [he/him], and I am a theatre artist from the Greater Philadelphia area. As a playwright, my work has been produced with Frigid NY, The Strides Collective, Revolution Shakespeare, The Jersey Fringe Festival (2018 and 2019), The College of New Jersey, Langhorne Players, The Ritz Theatre Company, and The Venice Island Performing Arts Center. Previous directing credits include: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Xanadu, IF/THEN, Funny Girl, Rent, Proof, and The Heiress. I’m a proud alumnus of the Arden Theatre Company’s Professional Apprentice Program (Class 25), and a current member of The Dramatist Guild.
I am also the Founding Artistic Director of The Strides Collective, a nonprofit queer theatre company in Philadelphia that produces and develops work by emerging playwrights that embraces the queer experience through authentic, modern, and innovative storytelling.
